Children's book illustration

Welcome to my Children’s book illustration page

Influenced by my training as an architect, I love simple, clear compositions, light, clair-obscur and observational drawing, which serves as a guide and refuge for me. During my early graphic explorations, I quickly abandoned the architect’s pen and straight lines in favour of the pencil, with its more lively strokes, those of the first sketch, to tell stories that I used to invent and now also draw.

My world is made up of small moments of everyday life, interactions, little things in which the marvellous occurs. They do not belong to a specific era; I also want to bring a modern, non-stigmatising outlook and represent an inclusive society.

Favourite techniques

I have a special affinity for wet and mixed media techniques and collage because of the richness of textures, the playfulness and the explorations they allow. I also work on an iPad to test ideas and make some preparatory sketches.

I am bringing more and more volume into my work by folding and cutting paper, as in a model, thus creating depths and scenes that can be seen on different planes.
