Illustrations for an elementary school instruction manual on how to use the parent-teacher contact book, originally created in 2021 and completely redesigned in 2025.
In this school, the majority of parents do not read the parent-teacher contact book, even though it is the only means of communication between teachers and families. One of the reasons identified by the school is that many parents have a limited understanding of French.
The proposed solution was to produce, in collaboration with teachers and parent representatives, a short, illustrated instruction manual using simple, easy-to-read language.
Result: An immediate increase in the number of families checked the parent-teacher contact book, with pupils using the manual to explain to their families how to use it.
Instructions on how to use the contact book have since been handed out every year on the first day of term.
